The impact of Covid19 has shown us how business can be disrupted by events. Historically we had thought that most disruptions would probably come from competition enabled by new technology. Either way such incidents typify the VUCA world in which we now live.
So how can we operate effectively and efficiently in today’s world? In periods and areas of relative stability we can use historic data and root cause analysis-based improvement approaches including Lean / Lean Six Sigma, but what do we use when historic data is no effective predictor of future performance?
We have two very different business systems (respectively ordered and disordered) that can operate either sequentially or in parallel depending on business circumstances. Business Agility is arguably both the best form of defence and offense in disordered situations, and Lean in more ordered ones; combined they act as a ‘Dual Operating System’ which we will introduce and explore on the webinar’.
